Laine Calls Out Podcast For Insensitive Jokes About His Mental Health
On a recent podcast found on the internet a member decided to take his displeasure about the Columbus Blue Jackets to light and ended up attacking Patrik Laine in the process.
Unknowingly Patrik Laine saw this particular post and responded to it.
The joke, specifically, can be found on Laine's X. But they refer to him contemplating «Remington Retirement» which is a referral to s**cide.
Whether or not Laine saw this post or not this is simply not ok to say at all. Joking about that particular matter is never acceptable and "Zach" should feel ashamed of himself.
Patrik Laine has been in the NHL's Player Assistance program since January 28th working to better himself. As mental health amongst athletes becomes more prevalent the hope is the stigmatism around mental health goes away.
