Montreal Canadiens Goon Breaks Unspoken Rule Against the Avalanche

The Montreal Canadiens were crushed 8-4 by the Colorado Avalanche. During the game, a Canadiens forward broke an unspoken rule.

Pezzetta Punches Byram in the Head

Bowen Byram, the fourth overall pick in 2019, is full of talent and upside. He could turn into a bonafide first-pairing two-way guy, but he's dealt with serious injuries throughout his young career.

He's had several concussions, and it's somewhat of an unspoken rule between players not to throw punches to the head of a player who's dealt with concussions, especially one with such a promising future.

Michael Pezzetta, a late-round pick in 2016, has been effective at every level he's played at. From a fourth line grinder in the ECHL, to the AHL, and now to the NHL, he has been a boost of energy on two consecutive weak Canadiens teams.

He's a fighter, both metaphorically and literally, and sometimes he crosses the line. Last night, Pezzetta, in a scrum with Byram, went too far.

Punching the young concussion prone blueliner right in the head, Pezzetta broke the unspoken rule.

Unacceptable performance by the fourth line grinder, as lovable as he may be.
