Nichushkin's NHL Fate Has Been Decided
Valeri Nichushkin's NHL future has been up in the air since a woman in his hotel got too intoxicated forcing Nichushkin to flee the country back to Russia. Nichushkin officially left for personal reasons but with this going on at the same time, it is clear that this was the reason.
A report out of Russia says Nichushkin will return to the NHL.
"As [Sport-Express.ru] learned, forward Valeri Nichushkin will continue to play for Colorado in the next NHL season. This question has never been questioned within the club, despite the history that occurred during the playoffs."
Nichushkin has been a crucial member of the Avalanche having scored 47 points in 53 games this past season. During the Avs Cup run last year, he scored 15 points in 20 games proving he was worth it.
Last offseason, the Avalanche signed Nichuskin to an 8-year extension worth a total of $49 million. If he is able to stay out of trouble, he should be a staple in the Avs top 6 with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
