The Chicago Blackhawks are set to re-sign pending UFA Corey Perry, who was acquired yesterday from Tampa Bay, to a massive contract.
Perry was acquired by the Blackhawks yesterday in exchange for a 2024 7th-round draft pick.
Many are confused as to why the Blackhawks bothered trading for Perry in the first place, considering he wasn't going to get an offer anywhere near $4 million on the open market.
This very well could be the last contract of his career, so kudos to Corey for getting paid big bucks.
If you're shocked by the price tag, don't worry. You're not alone.
