Bedard's tenure is off to an incredible start. Fans knew he would be good but embarrassing an opposing defenseman on his second shift is still impressive. His early preseason success has set up big expectations for Bedard's rookie year.

Can Bedard Live Up To The Hype?

The hype surrounding Connor Bedard is massive. He is by far the favorite to win Rookie of the Year and is touted as the best prospect since Connor McDavid. The Blackhawks will be watched television every night. The surrounding team around Bedard might make living up to expectations difficult though.

The Blackhawks were just starting up their rebuild this past year. They traded away Patrick Kane and lost Jonathan Toews due to health concerns. Now they are immediately shoved into their next core group. The rebuild still may take some time as the team surrounding Bedard is quite disappointing.

Bedard will need to carry the team if any type of team success is going to happen. Either way watching Connor Bedard play in the NHL every night is going to be a treat.
