Jesperi Kotkaniemi Blows Up in the Tunnel after getting shutout by the Panthers
Sometimes you just have to let the anger out. Jesperi Kotkaniemi of the Carolina Hurricanes had every reason to be frustrated last night after his team lost 1-0 to the Florida Panthers. The loss sets the Canes back 3-0 in the series.
Kotkaniemi Mad!
As the Carolina Hurricanes were headed back to the dressing room following the loss, Kotkaniemi boiled over, destroying his stick in three swings as teammate Jack Drury, who was directly behind him, could only cover his face and hope not to get hit by debris.
Personal Reasons
As frustrating as the loss was for the team, it was likely extra grating for Kotkaniemi, who logged just 10:25 of ice-time in the game. His TOI has dropped considerably over the last two matches, and he has no points and just 5 shots in the series so far. Carolina will need nothing short of a miracle to pull off a comeback in this series.
