Noah Hanifin Reveals The Only Team He's Willing To Commit To Long-Term
Noah Hanifin has been in the news a lot recently regarding his expiring contract. After reports came out that he was not willing to stay in Calgary trade rumors have skyrocketed. Today a new report has suggested that Hanifin has a preferred destination in mind.
Hanifin's Days In Calgary Look To Be Coming To An End
The Calgary Flames are heading towards yet another disappointing season. After having a terrible regression last season the underachieving has continued. A couple of weeks ago Flames star forward Elias Lindholm was moved to the Vancouver Canucks. Now it seems as though defenseman Noah Hanifin will be next.
Reports in recent weeks have said that Hanifin would prefer to play elsewhere next season. With his contract expiring this leads to a trade being the most likely scenario. With Hanifin playing well this season many teams are likely going to be interested. One team seems to have the lead in getting him and is his preferred landing spot.
Hanifin Reveals Which Team He Wants To Be Traded To
While Noah Hanifin is unlikely to have much say in his eventual trade out of Calgary it never hurts to try. With this mindset, Hanifin has reportedly told his agents that he would like to play for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Seravalli: I think the Hanifin camp has expressed to the Flames that he has interest in signing in Tampa eventually.

From LeBrun's latest on TSN:
"They came so close to extending Noah Hanifin... around $7.5 million that Hanifin had on the table and it was actually Hanifin who backed off from it and I don't know if any of that has changed now. I don't know if you can put the genie back in the bottle but the idea from everyone involved is that he gets dealt as a signed player, that there's an extension in place for him wherever he ends up."
"The feeling is he's going to end up south of the border. Because it's his preference to sign his next contract somewhere in the United States. Keep your eye on Tampa, they're stealth operators at the deadline and they are believed to be looking at him with Mikhail Sergechev out of the lineup.
- Chris Johnston
It remains to be seen if Hanifin is even traded before the deadline. If he is watch for the Lightning to be a big player in the process until the end. With under a month until the deadline, these rumors and reports will only become more fun to track.
