Calgary Flames trade Andrew Mangiapane to the Washington Capitals
The Calgary Flames have traded forward Andrew Mangiapane to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 2025 2nd round pick, the Capitals announced.
Mangiapane, 28, netted 14 goals, along with 26 assists & 40 points in 75 games played with the Flames this past season.
Mangiapane was a career Flames, drafted by the Calgary Flames as a sixth round pick, 166th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
A seven year NHL veteran with Calgary, Mangiapane has played 417 career NHL games with the Flames, with 109 goals, 106 assists & 215 points.
The 2025 pick was originally owned by Colorado, traded to Washington last year in a deal that sent Lars Eller to the Avalanche.
Mangiapane, who has a no-trade clause added in his contract, in the final year of a three-year deal making $5.8M for the 2024-25 season.
