As the NHL regular season is coming to an end, many players are finding themselves playing the final game of their career. For one NHL player, the final moments of his last game will surely stay with him forever.

Anderson's Final NHL Moments



Buffalo Sabres goaltender Craig Anderson's final game was bittersweet, as the 41 year old played his final NHL game against his former team, the Ottawa Senators.




Even though the Sabres will not qualify for the playoffs this season, Buffalo came through for Anderson and captured a 4-3 win in overtime.

Anderson made 30 saves in during the game.

Anderson was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in 1999. However, he never signed a contract with them and was selected 73rd overall by the Chicago Blackhawks after he re-entered the draft in 2001.

Anderson played with the Blackhawks until 2006, when he was traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a 2008 6th round pick. join the Colorado Avalanche as a free agent in 2009 after 3 seasons with Florida. In 2011, he was traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for goaltender Brian Elliott. The goaltender spent 9 seasons with the Senators before signing a professional tryout with the Washington Capitals.

Anderson joined the Buffalo Sabres in 2021.


The Buffalo Sabres will end their regular season with a matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at 7:30 PM.
