Buffalo Sabres defenseman Connor Clifton was just suspended for two games for an illegal check to the head on Nico Hischier.

Last night Connor Clifton laid a dangerous hit on Nico Hischier that had him ejected. Just now it was announced he will be suspended for two games as a result of the hit.

Buffalo's Connor Clifton has been suspended for two games for an Illegal Check to the Head of New Jersey's Nico Hischier.
Clifton signed with the Sabres last offseason and has been impressive with his short tenure with the team so far. Hischier has been impressive thus far with the Devils but sat out of last night's third period as a result of this hit.
