Brad Marchand breaks his silence about Sam Bennet's dirty play
The Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand broke his silence about the hit he received from Sam Bennett that forced him to miss the past two games.
In the series between the Bruins and the Panthers, the hottest topic revolves around Sam Bennett's controversial hit on Marchand.
Watch the incident in the video below:
Bennett clearly sucker punched Marchand in game three and the captain hasn't been back in the line up since then.
In a press conference, Marchand opened up about Bennett's dirty play and stated that he got away with something he probably shouldn't have. However, he still believes that this is a part of the game.
Here's what he said:
"I think he got away with a shot. But I'm not gonna complain. Shit happens. I've been on the other side of a lot of plays. That's part of the game, part of playoff hockey. Sucks to be on the other side of it, but that stuff happens."
"Part of playoffs is trying to hurt every player on the other team. The more guys you take out, the more advantage your team has."
Marchand often got on the other end of such plays in his career, explaining why he doesn't want to complain.
The Bruins are set to face the Panthers for the sixth time of the series tomorrow. Once again, it's a must-win game for Jim Montgomery's men as they face elimination, in Florida.
More to come.
