Patrice Bergeron Receives Unnecessary Hate after Announcing his Retirement
The Boston Bruins and their fans were rocked by the official announcement of the retirement of arguably the greatest captain in franchise history, but it appears not everyone shares that level of respect for him.
Despite his average production of 66 points per season and almost 1300 games played for the B's, as well as winning one Stanley Cup with the team, not everyone has been positive after a 19-year career came to an end.
There are now several radio hosts in Boston in hot water for major criticism of Bergeron, after they criticized him for losing two Cups and never being the best two-way centre in the league.
Most Bruins fans and regular NHL fans recognize his greatness however, as he ends his career with over 1000 points, six Selke Award's and a fantastic career as the leader of this team.
Ultimately, everyone is going to have their detractors, but to criticize a franchise legend on the day of his retirement is just too far, especially given how respectable he has been in his role for the past 19 years.
