Bobby Ryan under fire after rant on women's sports on social media
The former NHLer Bobby Ryan is under fire after going on a rant about women's college basketball in a recent post on X.
Later, Meghan Chayka, founder of Stathlete, a sports analytics firm, made a post on X about how pleased she was to see so much people watch the women's basketball game.
Meghan Chayka: "Why does it seem like everyone is watching women's basketball??
Oh because EVERYONE is watching."
The former NHLer Bobby Ryan, who played 866 NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, and Detroit Red Wings between 2007 and 2021, didn't shy away from speaking his mind and stirred to pot with his controversial opinion.

Since he retired, Bobby Ryan often shared his opinion on social media. Last year,
he blasted the reporter Bruce Garrioch for comments he had made about the 2017 edition of the Ottawa Senators, which Ryan was a part of.
Last night, Ryan lashed out on women's basketball, in yet another controversial statement:
Bobby Ryan: "Name 7 players. Not 1. Not 25-7. First and last namesgo for it."
The insider Chris Johnston decided to step in and confront him about his comments. Ryan continued and attacked Johnston:
Chris Johnston: "Hey @Bobbyry5409, buzz off with this nonsense."
Bobby Ryan: "Actuallywatch this Chris."
"Hey Chris Johnson I'm sorry this got a little further than you thoughtwhile we use the word «nonsense» are we just going to skip over your conflict of interest? Or we gonna skip over it? Have a great night!"
