Treliving's History With Nylander's Agent Rocky Indicating A Nylander Trade On The Horizon

Brad Treliving does not have a good relationship with William Nylander's agent indicating he may be more quick to trade Nylander if contract talks stall.

With the Calgary Flames, he managed players such as Matthew Tkachuk, Mark Giordano, Johnny Gaudreau, and others who were demanding expensive contracts.

Treliving also knows what it is like to get burned by a star leaving in free agency with Gaudreau walking for nothing and Tkachuk requesting a trade shortly after.

When prompted by the media on his relationship with the player's agents, Treliving said he had a good relationship with Judd Moldaver, Auston Matthews' agent, but did not say the same for Lewis Gross, William Nylander's agent.

With Gaudreau and Nylander having the same agent, Treliving will likely be quick to ship Nylander out if Gross indicates any sign of Nylander potentially leaving.

Nylander is coming off of a career year and it could be beneficial to the Leafs to sell high on Nylander for a premium return instead of risking any loss of assets with Nylander walking for nothing.
