Now injured for the rest of the season, Kent Hughes has revealed what the real plan is for Juraj Slafkovsky

During his press conference today, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes was asked about the organization's plans for Juraj Slafkovsky.

Now that he is injured for probably the rest of the season, Hughes was very clear about his plans:

"Honestly, we had discussions every week or two about whether we should, for Juraj Slafkovsky's development, send him to the American Hockey League, but in the end, we didn't feel that was the best option for him.

What we're trying to do is help him understand how he can be most successful here in North America, and it's not necessarily natural for him, so we think his development will be in stages." - Kent Hughes

Unfortunately, the Habs announced at noon that Juraj Slafkovsky will miss three months with a knee injury. His rookie season is therefore, barring a miracle, over.

In 39 games, the Slovakian scored 10 points, including four goals.
