Knies Shows he Belongs in the NHL With Latest Performance

Matthew Knies, with 13 points in 27 games this season, is showing great potential despite an uneven start in Toronto. In his first season in the NHL, he's making it clear that he's exactly where he belongs.
In recent weeks, Knies has become a lot more comfortable on the ice. He even managed to achieve a Gordie Howe hat trick, scoring a goal, providing an assist, and engaging in a fight in the same game last Saturday against the Penguins.

A New Nickname for Knies Emerges

Nicknames are common in the NHL. Almost every player gets one, with the majority being a variation of their last name. Some players have more original ones, like Montreal's Arber Xhekaj, who is called "Wi-Fi" because his last name resembles a Wi-Fi password.
During last night's game between the Rangers and the Leafs, the legendary Joe Bowen called Knies "Knuckles," referring to his fight, even though he barely landed a punch in the altercation.
"Knuckles" sounds great and is a clever play on words with his name. However, it remains to be seen how well it fits Knies' style unless he starts dropping the gloves more often.
As seen on Maple Leafs Daily - The legendary Joe Bowen gives Leafs rookie Knies a brand new nickname; will it stick?
