Goaltender Jack Campbell of the Edmonton Oilers has taken a step back from the team amid rumors of the Oilers' management needing to work out the complexity of his contract.

Campbell as a goaltender was red-hot during his stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs, which led to his signing with the Edmonton Oilers for a $5 million for 5 years deal with the team.
His previous season was somewhat of a decent run, so to speak, notching up more wins than losses. However, could not secure the number one spot for netminder for his team.

Jack Campbell's NHL career may be over

Jack Campbell, currently has two and a half years left on his contract and could be dealt in a trade with another team, come shortly, if it works out for the Edmonton Oilers brass.
A team making a push for the playoffs or genuinely a run for the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup, will definitely look into this kind of deal and may perhaps pull the trigger to acquire him.
