The Washington Capitals are officially set to relocate out of the District of Columbia in favor of a new arena in northern Virginia!

Washington Capitals Relocating Out Of The District Of Columbia In Favor Of Alexandria Virginia

It was just announced that the Washington Capitals are set to relocate outside of Washington DC and will be moving to northern Virginia.
The @Capitals and the @WashWizards are preparing to say goodbye D.C., Hello Alexandria, Virginia.

Sources tell @7NewsDC that there will be a major announcement tomorrow morning at Potomac Yard.

The belief is that it will be about the construction of a new arena.

Alexandria, Virginia will now serve as the new home to the Capitals and the Washington Wizards. It is unknown if they will be changing their names but the odds are is that they will not be.
An official announcement is expected for tomorrow morning. More details will follow.
