As the trade deadline approaches, some teams will be pivoting to new strategies. One such team is the Pittsburgh Penguins, who could be poised to sell some key players.

Penguins Looking To Sell At Trade Deadline

The Penguins came into the season with high hopes of making the playoffs, but their recent play has all but guaranteed they will miss out. After a recent cold stretch, the team has fallen to 7th in the Metro division as they are just 25-21-8. As such, players like Jake Guentzel and Reilly Smith could be on the move.

Golden Knights, Florida Panthers Express Interest In Penguins Forwards

One team that is rumored to be interested in the Penguins forwards is the Florida Panthers. The Panthers have had a very solid season to this point as they currently sit just two points behind the Bruins for the top spot in the Atlantic division. Adding a player like Rielly Smith or even Jake Guentzel could go a long way to boosting the team's already deep forward group.

That being said, the Panthers are not the only team interested in the Penguins forward. Reportedly, the Vegas Golden Knights are hoping to make a reunion with the forward who helped the team win their first Stanley Cup last year. Frank Seravalli believes a reunion could be possible.

Smith's cap situation was the reason the team traded him last summer, but if the team can get creative, perhaps they can find a way to bring him back in. Regardless, it will certainly be an interesting trade deadline to watch for Penguins fans as some of their favorite players could be on the move.
