This afternoon a rarely seen post-trade deadline trade has been completed between the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators. The trade sends a young prospect looking for a new start to Ottawa for a draft pick.

Hurricanes Acquire A 6th-Round Draft Pick From Senators For Rees

Reports are coming in this afternoon that the Carolina Hurricanes have traded forward Jamieson Rees to the Ottawa Senators for a draft pick.

Rees who had been playing in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers and the Springfield Thunderbirds had struggled to find his offensive game. Rees a former second round pick in 2019 will likely head to Ottawa's AHL team in Belleville for the rest of the season. The Hurricanes get a 6th round pick for a player who had fallen out of favor in their system.
