The Calgary Flames failed to qualify for the playoffs again this year. There are many people to blame for their disastrous season.

Head coach Darryl Sutter couldn't truly unite the team, goaltender Jacob Markstrom had a poor season, and the big names on the roster weren't able to shine.

One of these is Jonathan Huberdeau.

Huberdeau Sets Embarrassing NHL Record

Last season, Huberdeau scored 115 points with the Panthers.

This season, he scored 55.

That's a drop of 60, which is now the largest dropoff in NHL history.

A record-setting season for Jonathan Huberdeau 🔥

From 115 points last season to 55 this season, the 60-point season-to-season drop off is the largest in NHL history. (Min. 50 GP)

His $10.5 million AAV contract hasn't even started yet...and it won't end until 2031!

The fans' patience will be tested in the coming seasons if Huberdeau doesn't start to produce more than that.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the trade, Matthew Tkachuk has scored 108 points in his first season with the Panthers...
