TSN announced the unexpected and tragic passing of a beloved broadcaster at only 57 years old.

It's with great sadness that we report the passing of the long-time TSN host Darren Dutchyshen.

Stewart Johnson, the Senior Vice President over at Bell Media, released a heartwarming statement:

"Darren Dutchyshen was a legend of Canadian sports broadcasting, a great teammate, and an essential part of TSN for the last three decades."

"A larger-than-life personality, Darren's incredible sense of humour and magnetic energy made him a natural broadcaster who connected easily with viewers. His enthusiasm reminded us every day of why we love sports. Most significantly, Darren was a friend to all of us at TSN, and we will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his loved ones."

He was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and unfortunately succumbed to the illness.

Back in 2022, he made a return to broadcasting, leading to a historic moment for the channel:

We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family as they navigate throught those difficult times.

More to come.
