Sheldon Keefe Gives Some More Bad News Concerning Matt Murray
When Kyle Dubas acquired Matt Murray, he knew it was coming with some risk.
Murray is incredibly talented, but the injuries have followed him his entire career.
Now on his second injured bout as a Maple Leaf, worry is setting in.
When asked if Murray has a possible return date in place, head coach Sheldon Keefe responded bluntly:
"Ankle's still not at the point where it's allowing him to do everything's that required to play goal in terms of his movements ..."
The good news is that he's putting the work in to return, hopefully long before the playoffs.
To make things worse, backup turned starter Ilya Samsonov is dealing with an illness. This means their starting goalie about the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow isn't even known.
No matter what the team does, it seems they just can't find the consistency in net. All they need is sixteen wins to go all the way, and hopefully one of them is healthy enough to make it happen.
