One name has been brought up, and the timing couldn't be better. Thatcher Demko is growing unhappy in Vancouver, and he would be a great fit in Pittsburgh.
Demko makes $5-million per season, while Pens goalie Tristan Jarry is a pending UFA who makes $3.5. The move would give the Penguins some more stability long-term, and the Canucks more valuable cap-flexibility.
If Ron Hextall could pull this off, it would be a game-changer. All we need to do is watch and see if he takes the leap.
