The NHL community is gathering their support around the Pittsburgh community after a Penguins fan suffered a serious incident at PPG Paints Arena on Monday night.

It was a very scary scene in Pittsburgh on Monday night, as during the Pittsburgh Penguins' home game against the St. Louis Blues it was announced that a Penguins fan had fallen from the stands in a serious incident and was rushed to hospital.

Penguins Issues Statement as Hockey World Reacts

The fan apparently fell from the concourse section to the lower bowl, and there is currently no information beyond the fact the fan was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
The NHL community is rallying around the Penguins and their fans after this terrible situation:
This is unfortunately not the first time the City of Pittsburgh has dealt with this type of situation as both the Steelers and Pirates both had separate incidents involving these types of accidents.
Thankfully the staff at PPG Paints Arena was able to act in a swift manner and be able to get him to a better medical environment and there has to be a lot of credit given to the emergency services for their immediate action.
It's a tragic scene that stresses the importance of making sure that not only are arenas kept up to date (as PPG is) but that accidents can happen at any point, and aren't reserved just for the occasional flying puck.
We here at Hockey Patrol would like to offer our best wishes and prayers to the Pittsburgh Penguins, their fans, and the Pittsburgh community as they work through this difficult time.
