He hasn't made a move yet, as he's watching the market form around him. This isn't to say he won't go after a big fish, but he's taking his time to find the best option.
As the deadline looms, sellers will hit a level of desperation. This means they'll have to take an inferior package to what they hoped.
This is where Dubas will swoop in, and not have to sacrifice any assets he deems untradeable.
With Vladimir Tarasenko and Bo Horvat off the board, the big names are guys like Jakob Chychrun and Patrick Kane. Then there's another tier of players, such as Ryan O'Reilly, Ivan Barbashev and Sean Monahan out there as well.
Finally, depth guys such as Sam Lafferty could be attractive to Dubas as he tries to fill out his roster.
We will see if he can pull off a big move, and we are sure, if he can, that it'll be a win for the Maple Leafs.
