Huge news out of Dallas, as goaltender Ben Bishop has waived his NMC for the purpose of the Stars exposing him in the Seattle Expansion Draft.

What this effectively means is that the Stars will elect to protect backup Anton Khudobin and roll with a tandem of Khudobin and rookie Jake Oettinger (who is exempt from the draft) for the 2021-22 season.
The interesting thing about this whole ordeal is that it was Bishop himself who initiated the exchange with the Stars, approximately one month ago, as was confirmed by Stars GM Jim Nill on Thursday.
Bishop missed the entire 2020-21 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus during last offseason.
I can't imagine a world in which Seattle does not at least consider rolling the dice on the former 3-time Vezina Trophy finalist, regardless of his seemingly persistent health issues.
Bishop has missed 88 games regular-season for the Stars during his tenure in Dallas, with an additional 22 games on the sidelines during the postseason.
