The Pittsburgh Penguins now have the longest win streak in the NHL. After a crazy Night in PPG Paints Arena the Pittsburgh Penguins win their ninth game in a row matching the Carolina Hurricanes total back in November and have the longest current win streak in the league.
The Penguins fell down 3-1 to the Blues when Penguins Head Coach Mike Sullivan decided to do a Goaltending change, replacing Casey DeSmith for Tristan Jarry. That proved to be the right decision Jarry was unbeatable making 13 saves.
Brian Rust scored in the second period to make it a one goal game, then scored 3 in the 3rd on goals by Crosby, Rodrigues, and McGinn. The Penguins can take the seasons longest winning streak if they can carry this momentum in the city of brotherly love vs the Philadelphia Flyers.
