Ron MacLean apologizes regret for his remarks and maintains he was misunderstood

In any case, despite calls for MacLean's to be fired for his "homophobic" remarks, the CBC mostly disregarded these demands earlier today. MacLean has since issued a statement clarifying his joke. In essence, the joke was that in order to remove your "tarp" (shirt) during a party, you'd have to test positive for something (alcohol). MacLean was making a lighthearted drinking buddy joke that clearly didn't go down well.
