Report: Alex Ovechkin banned from playing in Canada?

Last week, Alexander Ovechkin surpassed Gordie Howe as the second leading scorer in NHL history.
Although he has written his name into the league's history, his Russian nationality and support for his native country is catching up to him in connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In an official letter, the Ukrainian-Canadian Congress asked the Canadian government to refuse Alex Ovechkin entry to Canada.
Canada has no obligation to allow Alexander Ovechkin to enter our country. Allowing people who do not oppose genocide to enter Canada is inconsistent with Canadian values." - The Congress of Ukrainian-Canadians
