Both Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes recently inked lucrative contract extensions. Pettersson signed a three-year agreement for $7.35 million, and Hughes a six-year deal worth $7.85 million.
They felt guilty for being gone from the squad for so long and wished they could have returned sooner.
«Quinn and I just wanted to get back to the team,» Pettersson said. «It felt wrong with us being in Michigan when the team was at training camp and the preseason. We just wanted to get the deals sorted as fast as possible."
