In the last few hours, Danault's property on the south shore of Montreal has been put up for sale. Moreover, a source close to the case already told the Journal this morning that Danault no longer expected to sign in Montreal.
Despite the good services he rendered to the Canadiens during the last playoffs, negotiations between the two camps are at a standstill.
According to another source, the Victoriaville native would demand a five or six season deal that would pay him a salary of around $5.5 million annually.
Last September, he turned down an offer of $5 million per season.
