As a Hockey fan from Canada it was disappointing seeing the Quebec Nordiques relocation to Colorado, as well as seeing the Winnipeg Jets go to the Desert to become the Coyotes. We desperately want to see more teams come to Canada from the NHL.
We have been trying to get more expansion, or relocating teams back to Canada, Hamilton tried but were denied. So it was great to see the Atlanta Thrashers relocating to Winnipeg and the return of the Jets in the 1999-2000 Season.
Now City News Montreal reports Quebec Premier Francois Legault is meeting with NHL Commissionor Gary Betman this month to bring the possible return of the Quebec Nordiques. They built a brand new arena, the Videotron Centre was built in 2015 and has a seating capacity of 18,259, the seventh largest in Canada.
