Things got real during practice for the Chicago Blackhawks. During today's practice while working on forechecking drills, assistant coach Marc Crawford snapped on the team.
Reports say you could hear Crawford dropping "F bombs" left and right on the Blackhawks players. Crawford was caught screaming and yelling at players as they were skating through motions.
" F2. What the #### are you checking? "
It all started when interim head coach Derek King let assistant coach Marc Crawford take over practice. Marc Crawford has been known for a crazy temper and it was crazy indeed.
"We need a wake-up call here,» King said afterwards per Ben Pope, speaking on behalf of the coaching staff. It was good. It added a little emotion, a little excitement. It was making them feel a little uncomfortable, which they needed. "
The Chicago Blackhawks are 16-22-7 and have lost 6 of their last 7 games. Forechecking seems to be the issue the coaches wanted to fix. Losing doesn't help matters for the players or coaches, as no one likes losing.
I don't know if Marc Crawford's tantrum at practice will light a fire under the Blackhawks players or not but it's certainly entertaining news to share.
