This would be a horrible way to conclude a brilliant career, but there are many hints that veteran goalie Ben Bishop has reached his destination.
Bishop returned to action this week after a lengthy absence due to a damaged meniscus in his knee. After 15 months on the sidelines due to his injuries, surgery, and recovery, he was finally ready to return to the ice.
Sadly for Bishop and the Stars, his debut game in the American Hockey League was a disaster, conceding 8 goals on 34 shots. After a long hiatus, Bishop had an 8.20 goals against average and a.765 save %, indicating he had lost focus.
Despite his bad performance, Bishop told reporters after the game it was nice to be back on the ice. During the third period, he admitted to having soreness in his surgically repaired knee, and I wonder if those two things haven't led to what we may expect from Bishop on Tuesday.
Let's see what happens.
