Konstantin Komarek Suffers a Gruesome Skate Blade Cut

No one likes to see an injury like this. Konstantin Komarek, who has played a majority of his career in Sweden, has been forced to leave the SHL early after his wrist was accidentally cut by a skate blade, Reports state that his tendon was cut.

Komarek Injured by a skate blade

The injury occurred when Komarek who plays for Lulea, was fighting for position against Vaxjo's Martin Lundberg, during this battle, Lundberg's leg came up and his skate cut Komarek's wrist as a result. Komarek received an interference penalty for the play, and noticed the injury on his way to the box.
This resulted in the picture below, which is quite graphic

Aftonbladet stated that Komarek was not immediately taken to the hospital, and that the medical staff stitched up his wrist in the arena.
Thomas Berglund of C More commented that:
"A tendon has gone in his hand, so he is gone. He will recover, but he is away for a while,"

Vaxjo won the match in overtime and now has a 3-1 series lead against Lulea.
