Evander Kane said this to Kayla Grey on Joe Thornton,
"Joe Thornton was the first call I got. I had a nice chat with him for probably like 20 minutes, and it was nice to hear from a guy like that and have his support. I knew Jimbo a little bit off the ice prior to us becoming teammates and from the moment I landed in San Jose, he was the first face I saw. We had a very very close relationship when we were teammates in San Jose."
«He was a guy that I was always excited to see every day and I think he felt the same way about me, and we had a lot of banter but we both loved that type of thing. It was a great relationship and I'm glad it continues even though we're not teammates anymore.»
