The excellent Guillaume Lefrançois of La Presse is in Colorado and like many media outlets, he attended the press conference of Shane Wright, the number 1 prospect in the upcoming draft. He is accompanied by Cutter Gauthier, Conor Geekie and Matthew Savoie.
Wright says he is very excited about everything that is going on.
« It's a really busy schedule, but it's exciting," said Wright, surrounded by more than 20 reporters from around the world. There was the camp in Buffalo, which was cancelled the last two years. And now I'm here at the finals for a game. I'm training, I'm trying to be in the best shape possible. »
What city would he like to be in?
« I have my own opinion of where I think I should be drafted. But it doesn't matter what I think and it's up to the Habs. I would like to be drafted first overall, but it's not my decision. »
He went back to his dinner with members of the Habs organization in Buffalo.
« I really liked that. I liked getting to know their leaders. They described the city, the organization and their vision for the future. They want to build a winning team and I would love to be a part of that. »
