People were angry to learn that Reid Boucher won't serve any jail time after sexual assaulting the daughter of the billet family that took him in during his time with the USA national team.
We have learned that Reid Boucher has had his name erased from the records of the Sarnia Sting franchise aswell as the Ontario Hockey League. Boucher has had his KHL contract terminated and rightly so.
The reason behind him not serving jail time was because of his age which was 17 at the time of the offence, while the victim was 12. Boucher also does not have to have this case appear in the public record after he successfully completes his sentence.
"Him serving probation for doing this just, it feels like a slap in the face because I lost all these years of my life to the trauma and the harm that he inflicted on me and my family," said the victim. "And it completely destroyed my family for a really long time."
