Eichel was stated to be walking and cheerful after the artificial disc replacement treatment, which had never been done on an NHL player before.
The news began to spread that the superstar was skating after Eichel was captured on camera wearing skates and wearing Golden Knights clothing on the ice.
Now, in his weekly 32 Thoughts piece for Sportsnet, Elliotte Friedman adds to the good news, indicating that the timescale for Eichel's comeback could be shortened.
«If all continues to plan, it's possible Jack Eichel heads to Vegas early in 2022. He remains in Charlotte, with rehab going well.»
While it was reported last week that Eichel would be considered for a spot on Team USA for the Winter Games, the recent COVID outbreaks have supporters wondering if the forward is willing to risk travelling and being stuck in a long quarantine.
However, now that Friedman has stated that Eichel might return in early 2022, this is fantastic news for Vegas.
