Arthur Staples of the Hockey Writers said, " Sources told the Athletic Drury his former boss, Canadiens operations chief Jeff Gorton, have been in contact regarding Lehkonen. The talks are believed to be preliminary."
Lehkonen would be a good fit in New York he's a good two way forward, that could score a few goals and could Play with fellow Fin Kaappo Kakko if needed, but he's an excellent shutdown player and penalty killer aswell, he's a good bottom six forward.
Lehkonen was great for the Canadiens last season and scored the overtime time winner in game 6 vs the Las Vegas Golden Knights to send the Montreal Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final.
