Hurricanes Nino Niederreiter checked to see if Matthews was ok on the play. Matthews left the game for precautionary reasons but it didn't look good.
TSN's Mark Masters give this update on the Matthews after the game,
"The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe says there's no update on Auston Matthews.
We know that Matthews won't be on the ice for Tuesday's practice but that was already something scheduled. Leafs are planning to give him that day off as he really didn't get a break during the all-star weekend. "

Toronto Maple leafs Mitch Marner scored his 2nd of the game to win this one for their fallen teammate. Hopefully Matthews is ok you don't ever want to see anyone get injured.

Leafs reporter David Alter just shared this from Toronto Maple Leafs head coach,
" Sheldon Keefe says they will take more time to assess Mathews. You don't want to rush him back to soon then it ends up making it worse on the player and our team. Matthews is very important to our teams success we need to make sure he's ok."
