Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin gave a pre-defense of his scientific dissertation in front of the Federal Scientific Center for Physical Culture and Sports under the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation earlier today, and was unanimously recommended for a public defense.
Ovechkin wrote his thesis on a comparative analysis of technical and tactical training for teams in North America and Russia.
If Ovechkin is successful in his defense, he will become a candidate for his PhD in pedagogical sciences.
The Academic Council of 14 expert members and the evaluators present at the presentation were unanimous in their support, resulting in the recommendation of Alexander Ovechkin. One media outlet asked him when he had time to write a thesis!
