Today the Vegas Golden Knights have been caught red-handed once again manipulating the Long Term Injured Reserve rules. This time they put a new player on the list to make room for a star to come in.

Multiple reports have confirmed that the Vegas Golden Knights activated trade deadline acquisition Tomas Hertl today. To make salary cap space for him to be activated they replaced Tomas Hertl on the list with William Carrier.
#VegasBorn have retroactively placed F William Carrier on LTIR in order to create the space needed to activate Tomas Hertl.

Despite the Vegas Golden Knights having William Carrier, Jack Eichel, and Mark Stone on LTIR all are expected back for the playoffs. This manipulation of the system is legal but has caused a lot of controversy around the league.
@NHL This is getting out of hand, something has to be done

While nothing can be done this season look for the rule to be discussed in the offseason and potentially changed for next season. For now, the Vegas Golden Knights will have their full lineup for the playoffs ready to defend their Stanley Cup championship.
