The Canucks went all in during the season by trading a package deal involving Andrei Kuzmenko to the Calgary Flames for Elias Lindholm. The veteran came to Vancouver during the last season of his $4,850,000 AAV contract, and it appears that his new team could be making a push to keep him long-term.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks would be willing to offer him a 7-year, $7 million deal:
After a rough start with the Canucks in the regular season, the veteran had a great playoffs. In 13 games against the Edmonton Oilers and the Nashville Predators, he scored 10 points.
The Canucks just had their breakout season and after a disappointing playoff exit in the second round, they'll want to bounce back next season. Lindholm could have the opportunity to be a part of that, and it would be surprising to see him leave one of the most talented rosters in the NHL at this point in his career.
