Auston Matthews has proven he is a playoff performer over the last few games against the Boston Bruins, but his team has lulled behind. Bad news has emerged for him ahead of game four, after playing through game 3 with an illness.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have fallen into a 2-1 deficit in their series against the Boston Bruins, and having Auston Matthews completely healthy is crucial to their success. Unfortunately, Matthews is dealing with an illness, and he has taken today off ahead of the game tomorrow.
Auston Matthews won't participate in today's #Leafs practice for what the team is calling a maintenance day. He played through an illness on Wednesday night.
Auston Matthews joins Ilya Lyubushkin, whose wife recently gave birth, in players absent from today's practice.
