Bertuzzi and Marchand have quite the history together. They were rivals before Bertuzzi joined the Bruins at last year's trade deadline. Since then, their relationship changed. Bertuzzi actually said that Marchand was a good guy when they were teammates.
Their camaraderie was seen earlier this season, after Marchand did a dirty play on Bertuzzi's teammate, and the Leafs' player simply shook his head from the bench, not surprised to see this from the Bruins' captain.
Now that Bertuzzi is a Maple Leaf, and both teams are facing each other in the playoffs, it's time to put the friendship aside.
Bertuzzi understood that, and didn't shy away from getting rough with Marchand. He slashed him in the back of the knee, which led to a penalty.
After the game, Bertuzzi and Marchand met in the neutral zone and exchanged a few words. In his press conference, Bertuzzi was asked by a reporter to reveal what he said, and didn't want to answer.
