Two Bruins Generating Heavy Trade Interest, Leafs GM Urged to Make His Move

A report from James Murphy of RG.org revealed that two Bruins players are currently receiving a lot of attention from suitors, with one a perfect fit for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Although the Maple Leafs have done fairly well for themselves, and added a ton of depth this summer, they could still stand to add another offensive piece to help replace as much of
Mitch Marner's lost scoring as possible.
However, they could certainly take a look at a long-time rival for some help considering one of the pieces they hold could be the key to giving them the top-six assistance they need.
Why Pavel Zacha Could Bring A Lot of Relief to the Maple Leafs' Offensive Troubles
Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha and goalie
Joonas Korpisalo have been constants on the NHL trade rumor circuit since the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, but neither player has been traded.
RG reached out to Zacha's agent and got a very simple response that could be interpreted a bevy of ways:
But Zacha can bring a great two-way game, size, high octane offense and isn't afraid to lay in the body. He could very well swap in between the 2C and 3C with Nic Roy and
John Tavares, and it might give Toronto a whole new facet up front if Tavares heads to the wing.
Zacha, 28, had 47 points in 82 games with the Bruins, and had back to back 21-goal campaigns with the team the last two years.
A former 6th overall pick, Zacha has 342 points in 628 games (125 goals, 217 assists) and can play both the power play and penalty kill; with offensive success in both.
Plus, at 6'3, 206 pounds he'd fit perfectly with that new-look offense and team makeup that Brad Treliving wants.
What It Might Cost the Maple Leafs to Win the Trade Battle
While the Bruins aren't going to let Zacha go for peanuts, the Maple Leafs do have a few intriguing prospects who they could dangle in the hopes of adding him to the fold.
But looking at what the team can offer, they could be willing to part with
Ben Danford as the centrepiece of the deal. He's a few years away but the Leafs are already facing a logjam in the back end,
so he's expendable right now. They also have Nick Robertson, who could come in and play a top-six role and get meaningful minutes with the Bruins on the cheap.
There are also some intriguing Americans who they could ship off (the Bruins have a staggering amount of them already too) in Ryan Kirwan,
Borya Valis, and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine; the latter from Rhode Island, merely a stone's throw from Boston.
Toronto will need to give Boston their 2027 2nd round-pick but it's completely feasible to see the haul look like this:
(D) Ben Danford
(F) Nick Robertson
(F)
Calle Jarnkrok2027 2nd-Round Pick
2028 Conditional 3rd-Round pick (If Zacha scores 60 points, and Toronto makes the Conference Finals, it becomes a 2028 2nd-Rounder.)
Is that an overpayment for Zacha? Perhaps, but you're bringing in a former Top-10 pick with some serious credentials.
Toronto needs to open up roster space anyways so losing Robertson and Jarnkrok is no sweat off their brow, and Danford gets to grow alongside former Leafs prospect
Fraser Minten.
The picks are a sweetener and most likely will need a condition on one of them, but this is the price of winning now.
