Ottawa Senators head coach Travis Green is under fire yet again for complaining about the Toronto Maple Leafs as he finds a new excuse for his team's shortcomings.

The first two games haven't gone the way of the Ottawa Senators, that's for sure. Down 2-0 to the Maple Leafs, they are in a bit of a pickle heading back home, however if they don't turn things around there, it might just be a quick exit from the playoffs.
The team hasn't played up to snuff, and while some players on the Sens are acting like it's playoff hockey, it's a team that looks a bit lost at times, and with a head coach who lacks playoff experience, the team is at a pretty big disadvantage.
Which is why it's not surprising that head coach Travis Green was trying to find another reason to blame for his team's loss, and it involves yet another ridiculous complaint regarding penalties.
When asked about how his team performed and the unfortunate result of the game, Green tried his best to place the blame on a missed extra man call:
Thought we played a good game last night.

There were a couple of times the Leafs had too many men on the ice but it's part of the game.

The video speaks for itself. I didn't see the roughing by Ridly.
Keeping things short, Green thought the Maple Leafs may have had the extra skater on the ice during Max Domi's OT winner.
Perhaps Green might need to invest in either some contacts or glasses considering we count four Senators players to the two Toronto players (one of which is Simon Benoit going to the net).
Unless Green saw something we didn't, considering the Leafs were going for a line change, but the fact remains that even if the Maple Leafs had four players on the ice, they were 60 feet from the play, and Ottawa could have done a better job defending.
Maybe it was when the Maple Leafs bench erupted and they all swarmed Max Domi did he think there were too many on the ice, which is the only way to describe his accusations.
Some fans might even blame it on the fact that Green has never sniffed the playoffs, and might think the regular season is in Game #84.
The Ottawa coach needs to relax a little bit and maybe reign in his team a little bit better considering that they could be in a massive hole after Thursday night.
If they don't pick it up, Green will spend less time counting players on the ice, and counting his golf score much sooner than anticipated.
