Trade proposal emerges sending Mitch Marner to the Golden Knights

This comes after a trade proposal sending Mitch Marner to Nashville for Juuse Saros was floated around, but Leafs fans seem to entertain this idea a little more.

Shea Theodore is an elite-level defenseman and would immediately become Toronto's number-one defenseman.

There have also been counter proposals from fans and what they're supposedly hearing.

If the Leafs were to bring in Shea Theodore, this would have to include an extension for him prior to the trade. Vegas bringing in Marner would also have to include an extension in place, but both teams fill immediate needs as the 2024 off-season is likely to be a rough one for both teams.

If Marner goes to Vegas, having Eichel and Stone likely be his linemates will be a different change of pace and Marner must adapt to the physical level of play both men compete at.

Theodore coming to the Leafs teaches the team's defence to be even more physical than they already are. Reilly would also have another player to piggyback off of and lessen his workload.
